On a quiet street next to Meze's miniature chateau and just steps from the harbour and market square, this 19th century townhouse oozes style and charm. Meze is a delightful village built around a small fishing harbour, by an enormous, oyster-filled lagoon. Meze Maison, once the home of a prosperous négotiant, is charmingly in keeping with its surroundings. A stone stair leads from street level to a vast lounge and open-plan kitchen where Rob and Jason serve breakfast and, in the evening, a complimentary aperitif. You're welcome to stock a guest fridge with your own drinks. Breakfast includes eggs cooked to order. On the upper two floors are four immaculate and spacious rooms, decorated in restrained monochrome tones of grey and white. Floors are white tile, beds boast high-thread-count cottons, and some rooms have minuscule balconies. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers.

Why do people love staying in your hotel? The warm, friendly and intimate atmosphere, the luxury interiors, our local knowledge and the charm of Mèze are what bring our guests back again and again. What is there to do in the area? There is plenty to do from swimming, sailing or kite surfing on the Mèze lagoon, wine tasting in local châteaux, cycling to nearby villages and towns, horse riding or just sampling oysters and wine on the picturesque Mèze harbour. The beautiful medieval town of Pézénas and the vibrant city of Montpellier are less than 30 minutes away. There are miles of unspoilt beaches on the nearby Mediterranean. What kind of breakfast do you offer? Croissants and pastries from the local boulangerie, local cheeses and yoghurts, fresh seasonal fruit and cereals. Do you offer other meals? And can you recommend good places to eat out locally? We do not offer evening meals but we can recommend great restaurants within walking distance with oysters and the Picpoul white wine the local specialities. We offer a complimentary apéritif every evening. Which are your most popular room types, and why? Our spacious Louis room with its three floor to ceiling French windows and bathtub for two is a favourite for couples on romantic breaks or celebrating anniversaries. What facilities do you have for children and can you fit extra beds in your rooms ? Our Clara room can sleep a third person in a separate bed. Meze Maison accepts children aged 12 or above. What message would you like to give Hotel Guru readers? We would love to welcome you to our relaxed comfortable home and share our knowledge of the local area. But above all come and experience Mèze, a true unspoilt gem in this friendly corner of France.
